For years, I’ve been fascinated by what makes people feel truly grounded and content. Whether sewing on a 1930s vintage Singer sewing machine as a child, studying Psychology at university, carefully curating eco-friendly textiles, or spending two years pouring sweat and determination into turning a house into a sanctuary, one thing has always been clear to me:
Home is the foundation of everything, and that includes your inner world.
When your internal foundation is steady, you don't need to operate under constant stress, perfectionism or the pressure to perform for everyone else. You can make space for what truly matters.
My path has been paved with real-life transitions. The idea for my brand first began as a quiet dream when I was pregnant with my second child in 2013. Life took its natural turns, and as my three children grew, that small spark evolved into a recognised, award-winning fabric selling business built on sustainability, thoughtful curation and personal connection.
Living in the coastal village of Gullane in East Lothian, surrounded by sea air and slow rhythms, reinforced my belief that success doesn't need to be loud, chaotic or exhausting. Through my own experiences - balancing family life, walking away from corporate expectations, and nurturing a values-led venture - I realised my true calling: helping other women navigate their own pivots with confidence and ease.
The story behind Rosemary Wild - and why I’m passionate about helping women build intentional lives and authentic creative businesses.
Rooted in Integrity, Guided by Calm
My story
I’ve had the squiggliest of careers.
I gained my first degree in Psychology at St Andrews - I chose the interesting degree choice over the other pathway of Economics which was also offered to me. I figured that my life would be in finance as my strong subject at school was Maths.
So after uni, I started training as a Chartered Accountant but just couldn’t see myself being an accountant for the rest of my life. After a lot of research, I went back to university and completed a Masters in Property at Aberdeen. I was so thrilled to become a Chartered Surveyor but then the credit crunch hit and I was made redundant in 2008.
So I fell into the best role in the world of being mum of three girls.
It was an accidental move to become a stay at home mum, never what I intended but it was great. I always intended on returning back to the workplace in August 2020 when my youngest reached P1 - but of course, COVID had other plans for me.
Although I had volunteered extensively in the village as Treasurer to Baby and Toddler, Playgroup and PTA , I needed to stretch my brain cells and my world horizon.
Having loved sewing as a child
I launched an online fabric selling business in September 2020. I taught myself how to run a business, do social media, marketing and all those other things that are hidden from initial sight when you decide to sell fabric! You can find me also at Rosemary Wild Fabrics. I have had such a fun time serving my customers and meeting other small businesses.
Yet this wasn’t quite enough mental stimulation.
I went to a coach who helped me uncover the person I was before I had children and re-discover my interests and capabilities. It was now time to reach back to my first degree of Psychology and retrain as a coach myself.
I trained as a coach through Optimus Coach Academy, a world leading provider of ICF-accredited coach training.
The comprehensive holistic program was rooted in psychology -based coaching approaches, backed up by scientific research. These include Neuroscience, Positive Psychology, Psychodynamic approaches as well as normative coaching methodologies. It equipped me with the tools and techniques to support you on your path to growth and transformation. This specific training created the foundation for me to be able to work with clients on a more transformational level. By focusing on what is going on for my client’s brain and nervous system, I'm able to coach on a deeper level.
After eight months, I completed my Professional Coaching Diploma in July 2025
This required 50 hours of coaching practice outwith the course. I became accredited as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) in February 2026. I was delighted as this is a rigorous process, requiring in depth coaching education, coaching experience, mentor coaching, practical observations and passing the exam.
And so Positively Wild Coaching was created. I’ve coached over 130 hours. I’m here now to help guide you.
The Story Behind the Name
People often ask where the name came from!
Rosemary Wild is actually my maiden name. When I was first setting up my fabric selling business in 2020, I was planning to use a completely different name. It was during a dog walk in my village that a conversation with family reminded me of the rich story already built into my own roots.
Using my name felt like a quiet act of reclaiming my identity, a gentle reminder to stay grounded in who I truly am. Today, that same principle guides my coaching: helping you strip away the noise and step back into your authentic identity.
I am a huge believer in Positive Psychology.
I'm not a fan of dwelling in the past. It's such a much happier place to be to plan for the future. I’ve also come to realise Wild is the perfect description for the world we live in. Life is, by its very nature, wild. It brings us major seasons - some we expect, like the children growing up or a career shift, and some that are entirely unique to our own journeys.
Several major life events have happened to me over the last twenty five years.
With each one, my personal use of positive psychology techniques has grown to help me deal with challenging times. I want to use these techniques to help other people form their joyful future.
By combining the Positive with the Wild, Positively Wild Coaching formed to join the Rosemary Wild brand.
But here is what I have learned through my own share of those seasons: you don’t have to tame the world to feel at home in your life.
You just need to feel aligned with your values to be content.
